This morning, the conference hall of the Nouakchott Autonomous Port hosted the launch of the second cohort of the "Train for Trade" port management program, part of the francophone network of UNCTAD, to which Mauritania is affiliated. This initial training workshop focuses on topics related to international trade and the role of ports.

The opening ceremony was led by the Deputy Director General, Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Moustapha, who highlighted in his speech the essential link between international trade and ports, underscoring the relevance of the workshop’s theme and commending the collaboration between Nouakchott Port and the UNCTAD program.

He encouraged participants to make the most of this training.

This workshop is led by an expert from UNCTAD, in collaboration with trainers from Nouakchott Port, including the program’s focal point in Mauritania, Mr. Mohamed Fayçal Ould Beyrouk, technical advisor to the Director General.

Around 22 executives from the ports of Nouakchott and Ndiago, including engineers, captains, and financial managers, are benefiting from this training.
