The Presidents of the Mauritanian and Algerian Parliaments visit the Autonomous Port of Nouakchott

The Director General of the Autonomous Port of Nouakchott, Mr. Sidi Mohamed Maham, received this morning a high-level parliamentary delegation consisting of the President of the Mauritanian National Assembly, Mr. Mohamed Bamba Meguett, and the President of the Algerian National People's Assembly, Mr. Ibrahim Boughali, accompanied by a delegation of council members. This visit is part of a series of visits and meetings the visiting delegation is conducting these days in our country.
In his welcome address, the Director General expressed his pleasure at this visit, emphasizing the depth of the fraternal relations between the two countries. The delegation attended a comprehensive presentation on the Autonomous Port of Nouakchott, covering key information related to its infrastructure, operational capacity, and economic performance, as well as the vital roles it plays in supporting the national economy and regional and international trade.
Following the presentation, the parliamentary delegation conducted a field tour that included the main facilities within the port, such as the unloading docks, the container terminal, and the safety and monitoring facilities, where they received detailed explanations from the staff in charge about the workflow and ongoing developments in the port’s logistics system.
