January 18, 2023, the Director General of the Autonomous Port of Nouakchott Mr. Ahmed Salem Ould Mohamed Vall welcomed in his office a delegation from the Moroccan authority for the prohibition of chemical weapons accompanied by their Mauritanian counterparts from the National Radiation Protection Authority of the Nuclear Safety and Security (ARSN) in the presence of the Director of Cooperation and Communication Mr. Limam Ould Belati, and the Director of Safety and Security Mr. Othman Maalainine
The presentation of the port was organized in the conference room by the projection of a video on the various port services provided by PANPA, followed by an intervention by the Director of Safety and Security Mr. Ethmane Maalainine, who provided more information and answered the various questions of the members of the honorable Moroccan delegation.
Subsequently, the delegation made a bus excursion to visit the various port facilities. This visit was led by the head of the communications department Mrs. Sofi Al-Tuffahi who gave comments and clarifications on the different areas visited, without forgetting to pass on the history of the development of the port.
The delegation stopped at the surveillance centre, which provides permanent visual monitoring of the entire sensitive port area, including unloading, loading, quays, roads and buildings.
During its visit to the container terminal, newly commissioned, the delegation also followed a detailed presentation of this port facility.
It should be noted that the visit of the Moroccan delegation is part of the cooperation between the National Authority for Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety/Security and the World Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
