A delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency visits the Port of Nouakchott.
The Director General of the Autonomous Port of Nouakchott, Mr. Sidi Mohamed Ould Mohamed, received this afternoon, Tuesday 17/12/2024, in his office, a delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency.
The delegation included the Director for Africa in the Technical Cooperation Department and the representative of Mauritania’s program at the Agency.
The delegation was accompanied by the president of the National Authority for Nuclear Radiation Safety and Security (ARS).
The purpose of this visit is to cooperate in the field of detecting nuclear energy sources and protecting against them within the port, as it serves as the largest transit point in the country and a key driver of its commercial growth.

Tuesday 14/12/2021, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed ould cheikh Ghazouani, President of the Republic, kicked off the operation of the container terminal of the Autonomous Port of Nouakchott.
