A hi-level UN delegation conducts an information visit to the Port of Nouakchott.
On the morning of Thursday, 17/10/2024, a high-level delegation from the International Maritime Organization paid an information and inspection visit to the autonomous port of Nouakchott, where they were received by the port's commercial director, Mr. Ahmed Mohamed, along with his counterparts from the port's management teams.

At the start of the visit, both delegations watched a documentary film showcasing all the services provided by the port and its pioneering role as a key economic gateway for the country.

Following the screening, the visiting delegation toured the various port facilities, receiving explanations and responses to different questions from the respective competent authorities, each according to their field of expertise.

Tuesday 14/12/2021, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed ould cheikh Ghazouani, President of the Republic, kicked off the operation of the container terminal of the Autonomous Port of Nouakchott. In addition to its dominant geographical position of inter-continental maritime lines to strengthen the interconnection of maritime trade.
